Apple is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to innovate precision assembly and measurement processes. You'll work on opto-electronics modules and require experience in precision assembly and automation equipment design.
You have 3+ years of experience in precision assembly, inspection, and automation equipment design and qualification — you understand the intricacies of manufacturing processes and are adept at driving continuous improvement in equipment yield, efficiency, and speed. Your background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field, and you are comfortable with travel, approximately 30-35% of the time.
You possess a strong understanding of tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies — this knowledge allows you to craft machine qualification requirements effectively. You are knowledgeable in design of experiments and failure analysis, ensuring that you can contribute to the development of robust manufacturing processes.
Your expertise extends to machine qualification, including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability, and reproducibility — you are able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment, collaborating with diverse teams to achieve common goals. You are committed to applying Six Sigma principles to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.
You have experience with new product introduction and are familiar with the challenges that come with integrating new technologies into existing manufacturing frameworks. Your ability to analyze and improve processes will be crucial in this role, as you will be a key stakeholder in design-for-manufacturing initiatives.
In this role, you will be responsible for innovating precision assembly and measurement processes — your work will directly impact the design, cost, and quality of new, technically complex opto-electronics modules. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on enhancing equipment yield and efficiency.
You will engage in design-for-manufacturing discussions, providing insights that will shape the development of new products. Your role will involve conducting tolerance analysis and ensuring that all manufacturing processes meet the required specifications and standards.
You will also be tasked with crafting machine qualification requirements and leading efforts in design of experiments and failure analysis — your contributions will help ensure that new manufacturing processes are robust and reliable. You will play a pivotal role in the new product introduction process, working closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
At Apple, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to innovation and excellence — we believe in creating products that not only meet customer needs but also set new industry standards. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where your ideas and contributions are valued.
We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — we are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within our organization. Join us and help us leave the world better than we found it.
