Job Title: VP of Engineering

Reports to: Co-Founder

Location: Bangalore - 5 days (Onsite)

Key Relationships: Business Development, Customer Success, Product and Engineering teams

Job Purpose:  As the VP of Engineering at Easyship, you will lead our engineering department, driving the strategic direction of our technology platforms, system architecture, and global tech team. You will have the unique opportunity to shape the growth of Easyship’s engineering capabilities, from building high-performing teams to fostering an innovative culture, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency across our platform.

What you’ll do:

• Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse, distributed engineering team across multiple regions.
  • Establish a high-performance culture focused on productivity, collaboration, and growth.
  • Drive recruiting, hiring, and onboarding to build a world-class engineering team.

• Technology Strategy

  • Define the strategic direction for technology and architecture aligned with Easyship’s goals.
  • Oversee technical roadmaps, balancing new product development with platform optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing to align engineering initiatives with business goals.

• System Architecture & Innovation

  • Architect scalable, secure, and reliable systems, ensuring they support our rapid growth.
  • Drive innovation within engineering, exploring emerging technologies to improve system performance and user experience.
  • Oversee and ensure high-quality coding standards, testing protocols, and robust deployment processes.

• Operational Excellence

  • Implement engineering best practices, including continuous integration, testing, and code review processes.
  • Drive resource allocation, budget management, and operational efficiency within the engineering function.
  • Monitor and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met, identifying improvement areas.

• Collaboration & Cross-functional Leadership

  • Work closely with the Executive Leadership team to set goals, priorities, and timelines for the engineering department.
  • Support cross-functional projects, fostering strong partnerships with Product, Marketing, and Customer Support teams.
  • Serve as a representative for engineering in executive meetings, sharing updates and insights on engineering progress.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in engineering, with 7+ years in a senior engineering leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale tech teams and delivering complex projects on time.
• Extensive experience with cloud architecture 
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
