OpenAI is hiring a Quantitative Intelligence Analyst to identify and mitigate risks in human–AI systems. You'll leverage quantitative analysis to surface emerging risks and develop analytical frameworks. This role requires expertise in risk analysis and data-driven insights.
You have a strong background in quantitative analysis, with experience in identifying and mitigating risks in complex systems. Your expertise allows you to discover novel and emerging risks before they are well-defined or widely understood. You are skilled in using quantitative tooling to surface weak and unconventional risk signals, translating ambiguous patterns into structured insights that inform decision-making.
You possess deep subject matter expertise in safety intelligence, particularly in the context of AI and its applications. Your analytical skills enable you to build models that explain how harms could emerge in human–AI interactions, helping to operationalize previously unmeasured problems into actionable signals for detection and mitigation.
You are adept at developing analytical frameworks that map how new risks form, evolve, and propagate as products and policies change. Your ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners ensures that safety mitigations are effectively implemented across critical sectors.
Experience in the field of AI safety or risk management is a plus. Familiarity with geopolitical risks and strategic threats will enhance your contributions to the team. As a Quantitative Intelligence Analyst, you will focus on discovering and analyzing emerging risks in human–AI systems. Your role involves using quantitative methods to identify weak signals of potential abuse or misuse of AI technologies. You will collaborate with the Intelligence and Investigations team to monitor and analyze real-world abuse trends, providing insights that inform product decisions and safety mitigations.
