SpaceX is hiring an Inventory Specialist to manage the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials in their fulfillment center. You'll ensure proper inventory control and maintain strict material handling practices. This role requires 3+ years of inventory control experience.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 3 years of inventory control experience. Your background includes working in a warehouse environment, where you have developed a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of inventory management processes. You are familiar with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, which you have used to track and manage inventory effectively. Your excellent computer skills enable you to navigate various software tools with ease, ensuring that all inventory records are accurate and up to date.
A bachelor's degree is preferred, along with 5+ years of inventory control experience. You have a proven track record of managing inventory in a fast-paced environment, and you understand the importance of maintaining accurate records and adhering to strict material handling practices. Your experience with ERP systems has equipped you with the skills necessary to streamline inventory processes and improve efficiency.
As an Inventory Specialist at SpaceX, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing raw materials, parts, and hardware to support shop operations. You will store parts and materials in designated locations, ensuring that each item is easily identifiable. Your role will involve performing picking functions to create necessary kits of parts and materials, verifying that all components are available and accounted for. You will maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with established procedures, ensuring that all items are handled safely and efficiently.
You will monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock, verifying all materials received for conformity with accompanying paperwork. This includes checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantities, and revisions. You will issue materials against approved paperwork, affixing verification and traceability on required serialized parts before issuing them. Additionally, you will validate lot trace and perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Good housekeeping practices will be essential in your role, as you will be expected to maintain a clean and organized work area. You will support the organization's metric goals and objectives, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the fulfillment center. Abiding by all procedures, desk instructions, and standard operating documents will be crucial to your success in this position.
