Wikimedia is seeking a Senior Program Officer to implement regional funding programs for Wikimedian communities in Northern & Western Europe. This role involves managing grant portfolios and analyzing community needs to ensure impactful funding strategies.

Who you are

You have a strong background in program management, particularly in the non-profit sector, and are passionate about supporting community-driven initiatives. Your experience includes developing and implementing funding strategies that align with community needs and organizational goals. You understand the geopolitical and cultural contexts of Northern & Western Europe, which allows you to tailor programs effectively. You are skilled in analyzing data and trends to inform decision-making and prioritize funding opportunities. Your collaborative approach enables you to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers and community members, to achieve shared objectives. You are committed to promoting knowledge equity and outreach to underrepresented communities.

What you'll do

In this role, you will implement the Community Resources grantmaking strategy, ensuring it aligns with the needs of Wikimedian communities. You will analyze regional and global patterns to shape funding rationales and priorities, designing program activities that achieve significant impact. Managing the regional grant portfolio will be a key responsibility, where you will monitor alignment with strategy and impact goals. You will lead annual grant planning processes, collaborating with colleagues to ensure that funding supports the Wikimedia Movement's goals. Your role will also involve proactive outreach to communities that have been historically marginalized, ensuring that their voices are included in the funding process. You will be responsible for reporting on the effectiveness of funding initiatives and making recommendations for future strategies.
