Overview

Kong is seeking an Enterprise Account Executive to drive growth by developing and executing sales strategies for enterprise customers. This role requires a strong background in sales and account management, ideally within enterprise software environments.

Who you are

You have a successful background in sales and account management, ideally within open source or similar enterprise software environments. You are committed to driving growth and have experience in landing new clients, retaining existing customers, and expanding accounts for early-stage enterprise products. You understand the importance of building and maintaining a robust pipeline that drives long-term growth.

You are skilled in owning the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and initial outreach to contract negotiations and closing deals. Consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets is a key part of your professional history. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with internal teams, including product, marketing, and customer success, to ensure a seamless sales experience.

You have a knack for identifying customer pain points and aligning solutions to address these needs. Delivering customized product demos and presentations tailored to specific business requirements is something you excel at. Building and nurturing relationships with C-level executives is second nature to you, and you understand the nuances of enterprise sales.

Desirable

While you may not meet every single requirement, you are eager to learn and grow in your role. Experience in the API technology space or familiarity with cloud solutions would be advantageous, as would any background in working with startups or fast-growing companies.

What you'll do
