Overview

Google is seeking a Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead to drive partnerships in the messaging industry. You'll leverage your extensive experience in business development and work closely with C-level executives. This role requires a deep understanding of the messaging landscape and strong relationship-building skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, specifically within the consumer electronics, auto, OEMs, telecom, e-commerce/retail, apps, ads, gaming, or technology industries. Your background includes at least 7 years of experience in the messaging industry, working directly with messaging providers such as Sinch, Infobip, or Twilio, as well as messaging platforms and brands like banks and airlines. You are adept at working with C-level executives and have experience collaborating cross-functionally across all levels of management.

You have a proven track record of managing events or participating in industry forums in collaboration with external partners. Your ability to work cross-functionally with product managers, communicate customer requirements, and present concepts to external partners and brands is well established. You understand business processes and partnerships, and you excel at building consensus and developing relationships at multiple levels, both externally and internally across product areas. You possess the ability to close customer or partnership agreements while navigating ambiguity around immature, fast-moving products and maintaining a healthy pipeline.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead channel go-to-market motions, including business enablement, co-marketing, and joint business planning with C-suite and business leadership at partners. You will coordinate with Carrier BD/Android on carrier events and establish relationships with local teams to support RCS adoption by large brands in pursuit of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). Your responsibilities will include identifying new partnership opportunities, developing strategic initiatives, and ensuring alignment with Google's broader business goals. You will also be responsible for driving the execution of partnership strategies and measuring their success against defined metrics.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that partnership initiatives are effectively integrated into product development and marketing strategies. Your role will require you to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities, allowing you to provide insights that shape Google's partnership strategies. You will also be expected to mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the Partnerships Development team.

What we offer

At Google, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. We offer competitive compensation packages, including salary and benefits that reflect your experience and contributions. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry and contribute to innovative projects that impact millions of users worldwide. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
