SpaceX is hiring a Loads & Dynamics Engineer for the Starshield project to perform dynamic analysis and contribute to hardware design decisions. You'll work closely with the Falcon dynamics team and require skills in signal processing and finite element analysis.
You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in loads and dynamics, with experience in dynamic analysis and testing. Your expertise includes frequency-domain signal processing and analysis, which allows you to resolve complex dynamics problems effectively. You possess excellent hardware intuition, enabling you to make informed decisions regarding hardware and mission design. You are familiar with building finite element models and running coupled loads analysis, ensuring the reliability of satellite operations during various phases such as ground transportation and launch.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive hardware and mission design decisions. Your analytical skills are complemented by hands-on testing experience, allowing you to execute dynamic testing from start to finish, including pre-test analysis and data analysis. You are detail-oriented and committed to ensuring the successful operation of satellite systems.
Experience with in-house coding and commercial software for dynamic analysis is a plus. Familiarity with satellite systems and their operational requirements will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the Starshield project.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing dynamic analysis for the Starshield satellites, focusing on low- and high-frequency loads and vibration during ground transportation, ascent, and on-orbit operation. You will collaborate with the Falcon dynamics team to ensure the reliable operation of the satellites, making critical hardware and mission design decisions. Your work will involve executing dynamic testing, which includes selecting and installing sensors, conducting tests, and analyzing data to correlate models with real-world performance.
You will build finite element models to simulate the behavior of satellite systems under various conditions, running coupled loads analysis to predict performance accurately. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the Starshield project, supporting national security efforts through advanced satellite technology. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to in-house codes, enhancing the tools and methodologies used in dynamic analysis.
At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team focused on enabling human life on Mars. We offer a collaborative work environment where innovation and creativity are encouraged. You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to projects that have a significant impact on national security and space exploration. We provide competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development within the company.
