Google is seeking a Senior Data Center Program Architect to lead the design and execution of colocation data centers. You'll utilize skills in AutoCAD, REVIT/BIM, and Navisworks to ensure compliance with building codes and optimize facility efficiencies. This role requires 5+ years of experience in mission-critical facility design.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 5 years of experience in colocation data center design and execution. Your background includes mission-critical facility design and construction, showcasing your ability to manage complex projects effectively. You are proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT/BIM, and Navisworks, which are essential tools in your design process. Your knowledge extends to lean construction methodologies and large-scale construction experience, allowing you to optimize processes and improve efficiencies. You possess a solid understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, enabling you to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are part of your toolkit, as you frequently present to executive-level stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are aligned on project goals.
In this role, you will take on the responsibility of inventing, designing, and delivering engineering principles to mission-critical facilities. You will ensure that all designs comply with relevant codes and standards, including the International Building Code (IBC) and fire and life safety codes. Your expertise will guide the development of infrastructure improvements, and you will serve as a subject matter expert in areas such as cooling and electrical systems. You will coordinate with process controls and document control teams to manage all project documents throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will review conceptual designs for constructability and value engineering, collaborating with both internal and external teams to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively. Your role will also involve generating ideas and communicating recommendations to senior-level executives, driving implementation alongside facilities technicians to achieve project objectives.
