Sr Scientist, Autonomous Mobility & Delivery

We are currently running multiple pilots to integrate autonomous vehicles to power our mobility and delivery services, spearheading a groundbreaking product area that impacts partners, riders, eaters, drivers and the entire marketplace. Modeling and Optimization: Build machine learning and optimization models to understand the impact of autonomous vehicles (AV), and optimize AV utilization and efficiency. 2. Define Metrics and Targets: Develop and implement metrics and targets to measure marketplace efficiency and reliability. 3. Data Insights: Generate data-driven insights to prioritize initiatives and influence the product roadmap. 4. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences specifically for AV users. 5. Experimental Design: Design experiments and inference models to rigorously measure the impact of AV initiatives. 6. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to set goals and targets for partners. **\-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ----** 1. Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, or other quantitative fields. 2. Minimum of 1 year of industry experience as a Data Scientist, Applied Scientist, or equivalent. 3. Advanced SQL skills. 4. Proficiency in exploratory data analysis, statistical inference, experimental design and measurement. 5. Proficiency with dashboard and data visualization tools. 6. Ability to use Python efficiently for analysis and modeling. 7. Experience in modeling in Machine Learning (ML) or optimization. **\-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ----** 1. 2+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist, Applied Scientist, or equivalent, working in a marketplace environment within the technology industry 2. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills 3. Structured and independent thinking, with the ability to solve ambiguous problems independently. 4. Experience in experimental design and analysis (e.g., A/B and market-level experiments), causal inference. 5. Experience leading key technical projects and substantially influencing the scope and output of others. 6. Entrepreneurial experience in building products from 0 to 1. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$183,000 per year - USD$203,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
