Senior Data Scientist, Product, Google Play

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience. With 8 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, you have a strong background in performing statistical analysis and coding in languages such as Python, R, and SQL. If you hold a Master's degree, you can qualify with 5 years of experience. You are skilled in developing machine learning models and launching experiments, including A/B Testing, and have experience with end-to-end data infrastructure and analytics pipelines. Your expertise includes classification and regression, prediction and inferential tasks, and you are familiar with training and validation criteria for machine learning algorithm performance. You excel at identifying opportunities for business and product improvement and defining the success of initiatives. Your communication and presentation skills enable you to effectively deliver findings of your analysis.

What you'll do

In this role, you will partner with Product Managers, engineers, User Experience teams, and cross-functional teams to shape the product narrative and build or launch features. You will translate analysis results into business insights or product improvement opportunities, building and prototyping analyses and business cases to provide insights. You will develop a deep knowledge of Google data structures and metrics, advocating for necessary changes needed for product development. Collaboration across teams will be essential as you align resources and direction to achieve common goals. You will also be responsible for conducting business reviews with cross-functional and organizational leadership teams, ensuring that your insights are actionable and impactful.
