Google is seeking a Senior Threat Analyst to join their Threat Intelligence Group. You'll focus on serious threats to Google and its users, utilizing skills in security engineering and threat intelligence. This role requires 5+ years of experience and offers a competitive salary range of $166,000-$244,000.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 5 years of experience in security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols. Your coding experience spans 5 years in one or more general-purpose languages, and you have a strong background in threat intelligence or a related analyst role. You possess 2 years of experience in detection engineering, specifically with YARA, Snort/Suricata, and EDR rule creation. Your expertise includes understanding networks, techniques for lateral machine movement, malware persistence mechanisms, covert channels, application security, user authentication, and command and control techniques. Experience in an incident response or security operations center is preferred, as is familiarity with reverse engineering and dynamic/static malware analysis.
In this role, you will work closely with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities. You will be responsible for analyzing trends and developments in adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), providing clear, actionable, and structured intelligence to product and security teams. Your analysis efforts will cover multiple threat actors, and you will serve as a subject matter expert on how these actors might impact Google and its users. You will assist in ensuring corporate and production systems are safeguarded, and your insights will be consumed by various security and abuse teams across the company, as well as by external security research entities. Your contributions will play a crucial role in maintaining the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers.
Google offers a competitive salary range for this full-time position, between $166,000 and $244,000, along with bonuses and equity.
