Optiver is seeking an FPGA Developer Intern to work alongside experienced hardware engineers in Sydney. You'll develop latency-critical applications and innovate with new technology in the hardware space. As an aspiring FPGA Developer, you are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. Experience with VHDL and System Verilog is a plus, as is any exposure to FPGA development or hardware design. During your 10-week internship at Optiver, you will be paired with a seasoned FPGA developer who will guide you through the intricacies of designing and implementing latency-critical applications. You will engage in hands-on projects that contribute to the optimization of trading systems, ensuring they operate with minimal latency. Your responsibilities will include developing rigorous test benches using VHDL and System Verilog, as well as exploring new mechanisms for faster data communication and processing. You will also have the opportunity to accelerate network infrastructure and trading systems using the latest devices and tools available in the industry. Throughout the internship, you will participate in educational sessions led by former traders and engineers, deepening your understanding of how technology is leveraged in quantitative trading.
