Job Description

Who you are

As an aspiring FPGA Developer, you are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. You have a foundational understanding of hardware engineering concepts and are excited about the opportunity to work with experienced professionals in the field. Your passion for technology drives you to innovate and optimize systems, ensuring they meet the demands of high-frequency trading. You are a team player who thrives on collaboration and is open to feedback, ready to absorb knowledge from seasoned engineers. You are detail-oriented and understand the importance of precision in developing systems that respond to financial markets in real time.

Desirable

Experience with VHDL and System Verilog is a plus, as is any exposure to FPGA development or hardware design. A strong interest in quantitative trading and financial markets will help you excel in this role. You are adaptable and willing to take on challenges, demonstrating a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

What you'll do

During your 10-week internship at Optiver, you will be paired with a seasoned FPGA developer who will guide you through the intricacies of designing and implementing latency-critical applications. You will engage in hands-on projects that contribute to the optimization of trading systems, ensuring they operate with minimal latency. Your responsibilities will include developing rigorous test benches using VHDL and System Verilog, as well as exploring new mechanisms for faster data communication and processing. You will also have the opportunity to accelerate network infrastructure and trading systems using the latest devices and tools available in the industry.
