Job Description

The Data Migration Specialist plays a key role in helping automotive shops transition smoothly into Shopmonkey. You will ensure that customer, vehicle, inventory, service history, and financial data move accurately from legacy shop systems into our platform. This role combines technical skill, strong communication, and a deep understanding of how shops operate day to day.

What You Will Do:

  • Own the full data migration lifecycle for new and existing Shopmonkey customers
  • Analyze legacy shop management systems and map all relevant data into Shopmonkey structures
  • Build repeatable extraction and transformation workflows that support high volume migrations
  • Clean, validate, and normalize shop data
  • Execute migration plans that support onboarding timelines and deliver a smooth customer experience
  • Monitor data pipelines and quickly resolve issues through structured root cause analysis
  • Collaborate closely with Onboarding, Customer Success, Support, and Engineering to ensure accuracy and alignment across teams
  • Participate in testing and verification of migrated data with both internal stakeholders and shop teams
  • Maintain clear documentation that supports scalability and helps reduce onboarding time for future migrations
  • Identify improvements to internal tools, automation, and workflows that increase reliability and reduce manual effort

We Are Looking for People Who Have:

  • Familiarity with automotive shop operations, repair order workflows, inventory practices, and service writing concepts
  • Strong understanding of relational data, ETL concepts, quality checks, and reconciliation methods
  • Experience working with SQL and scripting languages for data extraction and transformation
  • Comfort adapting to a variety of legacy shop systems and data formats
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non technical teams in a fast paced environment
  • A mindset focused on accuracy, ownership, and continual improvement of the migration experience
  • Fluency in English
