You are an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Technician with a strong commitment to creating a safe working environment. You possess the ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player, engaging effectively with the current WHS team members. Your innovative mindset allows you to drive strategies that enhance safety and compliance within the operational teams. You are flexible regarding travel and working hours, adapting to the fast-paced nature of the logistics environment.
You have a solid understanding of company procedures and legal requirements relevant to workplace safety, enabling you to advise associates and managers effectively. Your experience includes assisting with risk assessments and following up on control measures to ensure completion. You are detail-oriented and capable of monitoring compliance with safety procedures, ensuring that all operational activities align with established safety standards.
Your hands-on approach to safety management allows you to assist in investigating incidents, establishing root causes, and developing action plans to prevent future occurrences. You are skilled in updating internal records related to incidents, near misses, and accidents, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. You are also comfortable collating and producing weekly safety reports as required, demonstrating your ability to communicate safety metrics effectively.
You are proactive in attending health and safety meetings, contributing valuable insights and recommendations to enhance workplace safety. Your involvement in projects and information gathering helps establish hazards and assess the level of risk within the delivery station, showcasing your commitment to continuous improvement in safety practices.
Experience in a logistics or warehouse environment is a plus, as it provides you with a deeper understanding of the unique safety challenges faced in such settings. Familiarity with safety management systems and tools can further enhance your effectiveness in this role.
In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the Amazon Logistics Operational teams onsite. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with risk assessments and following up on control measures to completion.
