As a Network Development Engineer, you will help solve a variety of technical challenges and mentor other engineers. You will play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You will help invent new features, design, develop and deploy reliable distributed services. You will work with a variety white box networking hardware and Linux based networking operating systems.
You will tackle challenging situations every day and you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems. Along the way, we guarantee that you’ll learn a ton, have fun and make a positive impact on many customers.

The Just Walk Out (JWO) Networking team is responsible for the hardware and software systems deployed to physical stores to support the seamless shopping experience that is Just Walk Out. As a Network Development Engineer working in AWS Apps / JWO Stores you will have end to end ownership developing our network architecture, hardware, and software. We are looking for individuals who are not satisfied with the status quo, and look to push the limits of technology. You will create new solutions to solve new customer challenges, streamline operations and enhance the reliability of our networks.- 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
- 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience- 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
