Google is seeking a Principal Analyst for their Kids and Learning Trust and Safety team. You'll leverage your expertise in data analytics and AI safety to enhance user safety across Google products. This role requires 10 years of experience in relevant fields and proficiency in SQL and Python.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 10 years of experience in data analytics, trust and safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or related fields. You possess at least 1 year of experience with AI safety and security, adversarial testing, or red teaming. Your familiarity with common LLM security vulnerabilities, such as prompt injection, jailbreaking, and data exfiltration, allows you to design effective mitigation strategies. A Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field is preferred, and you have experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection and transformation, and visualization. You are also skilled in a scripting or programming language, such as Python, and have experience working with engineering and product teams to create tools and solutions that enhance user safety. Your problem-solving and critical thinking skills are excellent, and you pay meticulous attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
Experience with machine learning and interpreting ML model performance metrics is a plus. You understand technical architecture and can identify safety gaps effectively. You are a big-picture thinker and a strategic team player with a passion for doing what’s right, and you thrive in a collaborative environment.
As a Principal Analyst, you will be tasked with identifying and addressing the most significant challenges that threaten the safety and integrity of Google products. You will utilize your technical know-how, problem-solving skills, and user insights to protect users and partners from abuse across various Google platforms, including Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. Your role will involve designing mitigations and driving post-launch monitoring, ensuring that you maintain a high level of executional, organizational, and operational focus. You will also mentor analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and acting as a subject matter expert on agentic features, models, and industry standards. Additionally, you will perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage, to ensure continuous support for user safety initiatives.
