Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 10 years of experience in program or project management. Your background includes at least 6 years of leading management consulting programs at a consulting firm, demonstrating your ability to manage complex projects effectively. You have a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving software development velocity and efficiency, showcasing your strategic mindset and problem-solving skills. Your experience encompasses the end-to-end product development process (SDLC), allowing you to understand the intricacies involved in delivering high-quality software solutions.

In addition to your extensive experience, you possess strong leadership skills, enabling you to manage cross-functional or cross-team projects effectively. You understand that a problem isn’t truly solved until it’s addressed for all stakeholders involved, which is why you excel at building collaborative relationships across various teams. Your ability to communicate clearly and coordinate efforts among diverse groups is a key asset in your role.

What you'll do

As the Head of SDLC Improvement for Google Cloud Platform, you will play a critical role in defining how cloud services are built at scale. You will act as a strategic force multiplier for engineering and product leadership, focusing on two primary outcomes: accelerating the velocity of software development and ensuring the delivery of secure and compliant cloud services. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing bottlenecks and limitations in the software development lifecycle, designing improved mechanisms, and leading strategic initiatives to ensure that Google Cloud adheres to best practices for security and compliance.

You will partner with VP-level stakeholders across product management, engineering, operations, and sales to design and deploy a more scalable SDLC mechanism. Your role will involve landing, operating, and continually improving SDLC mechanisms to enable development speed, security, and compliance. You will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate progress effectively.
