SonderMind is hiring a Staff Engineer to own end-to-end features across backend services and front-end applications. You'll work with TypeScript, Node.js, and Python to design scalable APIs and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role requires strong technical leadership and experience in building high-performance systems.
You have a strong background in full-stack development with expertise in TypeScript and Node.js, as well as Python. You are comfortable owning end-to-end features and have experience working with RESTful and gRPC APIs. Your ability to troubleshoot complex problems and come up with innovative designs sets you apart. You thrive in environments with minimal supervision and are adept at collaborating with product, design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
You have a solid understanding of database optimization, particularly with MongoDB and PostgreSQL, and can implement performance improvements effectively. Your experience with Angular allows you to extend UI components for web experiences, ensuring a seamless user interface. You are also familiar with AI technologies and can work with rapidly evolving tools and frameworks, making you adaptable to change.
As a mentor, you enjoy guiding junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within your team. You are a technical lead who balances scope and risk while maintaining high standards for deliverable quality.
Experience with microservices architecture and AI-enabled tools is a plus. You are comfortable working with ambiguity and can drive process improvements within your team. Your leadership skills enable you to lead complex projects and propose architectural enhancements that align with business goals.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable services that integrate with agentic GenAI systems. You will implement and extend Angular/TypeScript UI components, ensuring that web experiences are optimized for performance. Your responsibilities will include optimizing MongoDB and PostgreSQL queries, collaborating with cross-functional squads to define requirements, and delivering features that meet user needs.
You will lead cross-team API enhancements and propose improvements for performance, scaling, and testability. Your role will involve identifying and driving architectural improvements, as well as mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming sessions. You will serve as a technical lead for complex projects, ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and align with the company's objectives.
