About the Role

We are looking for a world-class Senior Performance Engineer to join our core Artifactory team. In this role, you will be responsible for pushing Artifactory to its limits, simulating our largest customers' most demanding workloads, and ensuring it remains the fastest and most reliable artifact management solution on the planet. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence the product's architecture and ensure an exceptional experience for millions of developers worldwide.

What You Will Do

We are looking for a world-class Senior Performance Engineer to join our core Artifactory team. In this role, you will be responsible for pushing Artifactory to its limits, simulating our largest customers' most demanding workloads, and ensuring it remains the fastest and most reliable artifact management solution on the planet. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence the product's architecture and ensure an exceptional experience for millions of developers worldwide.

Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to identify and address performance issues. For eg.

  • Lead Performance Engineering Initiatives: Design and execute comprehensive performance tests (Load, Stress, etc.) using tools like Blazemeter,Gatling, Locust, and k6.
  • Troubleshoot and Optimize: Investigate performance issues and bugs by analyzing system bottlenecks with observability tools and logs, then collaborate with engineering teams to address them.
  • Automate and Integrate: Build and maintain performance test infrastructure, integrating all automation and tests into our CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
  • Enhance Observability: Build observability into the entire testing lifecycle using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Datadog to create performance reports and establish clear benchmarks.
  • Communicate and Evangelize: Publish test results, architectural recommendations, and best practices through internal reports, presentations, external blogs, and official documentation

What You Will Bring

  • Experience: 6+ years in software quality, test automation, and performance engineering.
  • Coding & Scripting: Strong coding skills in Python or Java and proficiency in Bash.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes and a deep understanding of the Linux operating system.
  • Performance Tooling: A solid background in performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Locust, Gatling, and Blazemeter.
  • System Architecture: A deep understanding of distributed systems, networking principles, and database architecture.
  • MUST HAVE - Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a specific ability to translate raw performance numbers into narratives that articulate customer value and inform executive strategy. Full Professional English Proficiency is paramount for this position.

Nice To Have

  • Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with major cloud providers, particularly AWS.
  • Advanced Observability: Experience with a broad range of APM and observability tools like Datadog, New Relic, or Coralogix.
  • Application Profiling: Expertise in using application-level profilers to analyze memory (heap dumps), CPU usage, and thread contention in runtimes like the JVM or Go.
  • Broad Automation Skills: Familiarity with UI automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Formal Education: A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science or a related technical field.
