Python

Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Test Specialist for the Starshield project to support satellite production and testing. You'll design tooling and processes while collaborating with engineers to improve test coverage. This role requires experience in test procedures and Python programming.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in testing and quality assurance, with experience in developing and documenting test procedures for both development and flight hardware. You are skilled in troubleshooting and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all tests are executed according to established protocols. Your familiarity with Python allows you to contribute to basic test software improvements, enhancing test coverage and reducing false failures. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers to execute sub-system development testing and support production activities.

Desirable

Experience with satellite systems or aerospace testing is a plus, as is familiarity with vehicle-level qualification tests such as thermal vacuum chamber (TVAC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing. You are adaptable and eager to learn, ready to take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

In this role, you will support the initial bring-up and future production of Starshield satellites by designing tooling such as electrical checkout racks and vehicle harnessing setups. You will collaborate with engineers to develop and document test procedures, ensuring that all testing aligns with production goals. Your responsibilities will include executing tests according to automated test scripts, providing data and preliminary analysis to improve testing processes. You will also assist in troubleshooting issues that arise during production, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.

You will be involved in designing first-article flight and ground support equipment (GSE) hardware, working closely with production technicians to ensure seamless integration of components. Your role will occasionally require you to set up and execute vehicle-level qualification tests, contributing to the validation of design and functionality. You will play a key role in enhancing the testing framework, providing feedback on test procedures and software to ensure high standards of quality and reliability.

What we offer

At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to advancing space exploration. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work in a dynamic environment where your contributions directly impact the future of space technology. Join us in our quest to make life multi-planetary and be part of a team that is pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
