Zoox is seeking a Compute Platform System Safety Engineer to perform safety analyses of complex electronic and software-based systems. You'll work on safety mechanisms for autonomous driving technology. This role requires expertise in safety engineering.
You have a strong background in systems engineering with a focus on safety analysis — your experience includes working with complex electronic and software-based systems, particularly in high-performance computing environments. You are adept at identifying opportunities to improve safety concepts and mechanisms, ensuring that systems are designed with safety as a priority. You understand the importance of risk assessments and have a keen eye for detail when it comes to detecting and mitigating hardware failures. Your analytical skills allow you to perform thorough safety analyses, and you are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine safety protocols. You are passionate about the deployment of autonomous driving technology and are committed to ensuring its safe and reliable operation.
Experience in the autonomous vehicle industry or related fields would be a plus, as would familiarity with regulatory standards and safety certifications. A background in software development or systems integration can enhance your contributions to the team.
In this role, you will be part of Zoox's System Design and Mission Assurance (SDMA) team, where you will conduct safety analyses of our autonomous mobility solutions. You will work closely with engineers to identify and implement safety mechanisms that detect and mitigate potential hardware failures. Your responsibilities will include performing residual risk assessments and refining our safety concepts to ensure the safe deployment of our robotaxi solutions.
