Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to develop large-scale cloud infrastructure. You'll work with C++ and contribute to critical projects that impact billions of users. This role requires 2 years of experience in software development.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development or 1 year with an advanced degree in an industry setting. Your background includes developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, and you have experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. You possess a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, and you have experience with C++. You are also familiar with developing accessible technologies and are eager to bring fresh ideas to the table. You are versatile and display leadership qualities, ready to tackle new problems across the full-stack as technology continues to evolve.
In this role, you will work on specific projects critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows. You will develop and run services at the foundational level, ensuring best practices such as style guidelines, code accuracy, testability, and efficiency. You will contribute to existing documentation or educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback. Additionally, you will triage product or system issues, debugging and tracking them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. Your contributions will help shape the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information.
