Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 8 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript. With 7 years of experience leading technical project strategy and optimizing machine learning infrastructure, you understand the intricacies of model deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging, and fine-tuning. Your technical leadership experience spans at least 5 years, where you've successfully guided teams in complex organizations. You have a strong background in anti-abuse and safety roles, which aligns with Google's mission to enhance user safety.

You possess a Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, which complements your extensive experience. Your ability to manage project goals while contributing to product strategy is a key strength. You are adept at optimizing your own code and ensuring that your team members can optimize theirs as well. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively across various teams, contributing to areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, and large-scale system design.

Desirable

Experience in a complex organization is a plus, as it equips you with the skills to navigate challenges effectively. Your familiarity with anti-abuse and safety roles enhances your capability to lead projects that prioritize user safety and security.

What you'll do

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead a team of engineers focused on Android Application Safety. Your role involves managing project goals, contributing to product strategy, and ensuring that your team is equipped to tackle technical challenges. You will guide your team in optimizing their code and implementing best practices in software development.
