Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Senior Silicon and Package Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability of silicon and packaging products. You'll collaborate with design teams and execute reliability tests. This role requires expertise in reliability engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, specifically focusing on silicon and packaging products. Your background includes collaborating with design teams to incorporate reliability considerations into the design process, ensuring that products meet stringent reliability requirements. You possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to analyze failure data effectively and identify potential reliability risks. Your experience includes developing and executing reliability tests such as High Temperature Operating Life (HTOL) and Temperature Humidity Bias (THB). You are adept at working with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain Management, to ensure that supplier products align with reliability standards. You are detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality Electrical, Electronic, and Electro-mechanical/Electro-optical (EEE) components and systems.

Desirable

Experience with government contracts or national security projects is a plus. Familiarity with advanced reliability testing methodologies and tools will enhance your candidacy. A background in aerospace or defense industries will be beneficial, as will any certifications related to reliability engineering.

What you'll do

In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the design engineering community at SpaceX. You will collaborate closely with design teams to ensure that reliability considerations are integrated into the design process from the outset. Your responsibilities will include the development and execution of reliability tests for silicon and package products, ensuring that they meet the high standards required for government use. You will analyze failure data to identify trends and potential risks, working proactively to mitigate these issues before they impact product performance. You will also engage with Supply Chain Management to ensure that all supplier products meet our reliability requirements, fostering strong relationships to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

You will be responsible for documenting test results and providing detailed reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in the reliability testing process. Your role will involve continuous improvement initiatives, where you will identify opportunities to enhance testing methodologies and processes. You will also participate in cross-functional meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on your reliability assessments. Your contributions will directly impact the success of SpaceX's Starshield program, helping to ensure that our technologies are robust and reliable for national security efforts.
