Job Description

Are you excited to build and grow a new customer insights team that will influence flagship initiatives across Amazon and Prime? Do you enjoy using data and analytics to deliver actionable insights that support critical business decisions?

We are looking for a dynamic self-starter to join Amazon's The US Prime & Marketing team and create business analytics, data collection and reporting. In this role, you will identify stakeholder business problems and needs, build new and optimize existing dashboards/reporting for a rapidly growing business. You will partner with data scientists, other business intelligence engineers, product managers, and marketers to identify new analytical approaches to team problems. You will also build robust technical solutions for both internal and external stakeholders, including automating team processes. If you are passionate about data, go deep to find insights, relentless in ensuring data quality and reliability, obsess over internal & external customers, and feel comfortable communicating with cross-functional stakeholders, you are the candidate we are looking for!


Key job responsibilities

• Deliver insights and analytical tools that drive tangible improvements across US Prime & Marketing

• Support the business strategy, in close collaboration with leadership and US Prime & Marketing stakeholders to achieve priorities, goals, and measures of success.

• Collaborate with engineering, data science and BI teams to acquire new data and use AWS tools to create new datasets.

• Create weekly and monthly business review metrics and reports that directly drive business decisions.

• Proactively measure and analyze data, identify risks/issues, and overcome hurdles to drive results.

• Bring a high energy, results-oriented and resourceful mindset and quickly take control of your responsibilities.

• Lead complex data analysis and maintain regular metrics reporting to help stakeholders gain insights into the program.

• Use data science/statistical modelling tools in partnership with other BIEs and Data Scientists to develop next generation analytics


A day in the life
The Business Intelligence Engineer will spend most of their time understanding business problems, developing statistical/analytical models to better understand our data, automating manual processes, creating/productionizing metrics, and developing insights to inform our plans. They'll use these insights to create new models so we can optimize how we drive growth and performance. Finally, they'll engage with business stakeholders to align on and implement improvements and new processes/tools.

About the team
North American Stores Customer Insights is a new and growing team of Business Intelligence Engineers (BIE) and Business Analysts (BA) supporting all programs and products within the US Prime & Marketing Technology team. The US Prime team is focused on delivering the most engaging, satisfying, and loved membership program that drives the Amazon flywheel by growing the member base and accelerating engagement with Prime benefits. The Marketing Technology team helps customers discover and engage with new, popular, and relevant products across Amazon worldwide. We do this by combining technology, science, and innovation to build new customer-facing features and experiences alongside tools for marketers.- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Bachelors Degree- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
