Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that scale effectively. You have a proven track record of owning services from design through deployment, and you possess the ability to debug complex distributed systems issues with ease. Your expertise in Java is complemented by a strong understanding of system architecture and best practices in software development.

You are well-versed in machine learning and AI technologies, having applied them in real-world scenarios to enhance system capabilities. Your experience includes developing features that leverage device intelligence and behavior biometrics to prevent fraud. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge to help them grow.

What you'll do

In this pivotal role, you will own and lead the development of Sardine's compliance and financial crime prevention platform. You will design, build, and maintain critical systems that power KYC onboarding, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting capabilities. Your responsibilities will include developing new features at scale and driving the technical strategy for the platform.

You will refine internal tooling and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. As a technical leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the systems you develop meet the highest standards of security and performance. You will also mentor engineers, helping them to improve their skills and advance their careers.

Your role will involve significant ownership across the platform, allowing you to influence decisions and drive improvements.
