Overview

SpaceX is seeking an NDE Inspector Level II to perform high-quality inspections of flight components and production assemblies. You'll utilize your Nondestructive Evaluation skills, particularly in Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing, to support the mission of making humanity interplanetary.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and possess a Nondestructive Evaluation Level II certification in line with ASNT TC-1A, NAS-410, or DOD guidance. Your expertise includes methods such as Eddy current, radiography, digital radiography, dye penetrant, visual inspection, computed radiography, and particularly phased array ultrasonic testing. You are committed to continuous improvement and have a strong understanding of engineering drawings and inspection techniques for complex geometries.

You thrive in an inclusive, inter-disciplinary team environment and are passionate about contributing to high-quality inspections of flight components and production assemblies. Your ability to interpret, evaluate, communicate, and report findings effectively to production and engineering teams is a key strength. You also enjoy mentoring and developing others on your team, sharing your knowledge and skills to enhance team performance.

Desirable

Experience in supporting research and development of system qualification and certification for critical processes is a plus. Familiarity with training others in NDE inspection techniques will further enhance your candidacy. You are eager to engage with the inspection process and contribute to the mission of making humanity interplanetary.

What you'll do

As an NDE Inspector Level II at SpaceX, you will perform surface and volumetric NDE inspections, ensuring the highest quality standards are met for flight components and production assemblies. You will interpret and evaluate inspection findings, communicating these effectively to both production and engineering teams. Your role will involve reviewing engineering drawings as required, supporting the development of NDE inspection techniques for complex geometries, and assisting in the research and development of system qualification and certification for critical processes.

You will also play a vital role in training and developing other team members, sharing your expertise in NDE methods and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and reliability of SpaceX's flight components, supporting the company's ambitious goal of enabling human life on Mars.
