You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of computer vision, machine learning software running on devices to deliver an unparalleled user experience for our neighbors. As Sr. SDE on the team, you will technically lead the engineers on the AI edge software team and partner with scientists, product managers and other experts to develop efficient and scalable edge software for a diverse array of Ring and Blink products.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and develop efficient and scalable computer vision and machine learning software running on resource-constrained devices that meets product specifications.
- Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for on-device software development and validation.
- Provide technical leadership to drive continued engineering excellence.
- Work in a collaborative environment with other engineers, scientists, product managers and cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers on the team.
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master or PhD degrees in Computer Vision, Machine Learning or other related areas
- Experience in shipping edge software and/or large-scale cloud backend systems to real-world products
- 3+ years' experience in designing and developing computer vision and machine learning production software.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
