Overview

Amazon is hiring a Senior Operations Manager to oversee budgetary, people development, and operational objectives at their Fulfillment Center in Tremont, Pennsylvania. This role requires strong leadership skills and a focus on safety, quality, and performance.

Who you are

You have extensive experience in operations management, ideally within a fulfillment or logistics environment. Your background includes managing teams and driving performance objectives, ensuring that all operational goals are met effectively. You excel in coaching and mentoring team members, fostering a positive work culture that emphasizes employee relations and leadership development.

You are adept at implementing quality initiatives and process improvements, utilizing Lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency. Your ability to set clear expectations and measure performance allows you to hold team members accountable while also providing constructive feedback to support their growth.

You understand the importance of collaboration across departments, working closely with HR, Finance, and other support staff to secure resources for projects and initiatives. Your proactive approach ensures that best practices are shared and adopted throughout the organization, contributing to a cohesive operational strategy.

Desirable

Experience in a high-volume fulfillment center is a plus, as is familiarity with safety and quality standards in operations. You may also have a background in data analysis, which helps you make informed decisions that drive operational success.

What you'll do

As a Senior Operations Manager at Amazon, you will be responsible for all aspects of operations at the Fulfillment Center. This includes overseeing budgetary objectives and ensuring that your team meets performance targets. You will lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.

You will drive the creation of quality initiatives and process change initiatives, leveraging Lean methodologies to improve operational efficiency. Your role will involve setting and clarifying requirements for your team, measuring performance, and holding team members accountable for their results.

In addition to managing day-to-day operations, you will take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments and shifts. This collaborative approach will help you build a strong operational framework that supports the overall success of the Fulfillment Center.

You will work closely with support staff to build and secure the necessary resources for projects and initiatives in your area. Your ability to nurture ideas and roll them into improvement plans will be crucial in driving operational excellence.
