You have a BS, MS, or PhD in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, or another quantitative discipline — your educational background has equipped you with strong analytical and quantitative skills. You are proficient in programming languages such as Python and have a working knowledge of SQL, enabling you to manipulate and analyze data effectively. You possess a keen attention to detail and a strong desire to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner. You are comfortable taking ownership of your work and can work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Prior experience as a data analyst, data sourcing specialist, or data scientist in a financial firm is a plus, showcasing your familiarity with the industry.

What you'll do

As a Data Scientist at Point72, you will conduct thorough data analysis under the mentorship of a senior quantitative researcher, bridging the gap between raw data and predictive modeling. You will generate innovative ideas for proprietary data products, transforming firm-approved raw datasets into robust features that feed directly into our systematic models. Your role will involve tracking and evaluating new offerings from internal and external data vendors in partnership with Compliance, ensuring that our data sources meet the highest standards.
