Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud growing. We support all AWS data centers critical infrastructures, power and cooling equipment supporting all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Are you experienced in transforming data to actionable insights? Data Center Capacity Delivery Commissioning (DCCD Cx) is looking for an exceptional individual to join our Commissioning organization as the Commissioning Program Analyst. As a Commissioning Program Analyst, you will source, manage and analyze data to support intelligent team of commissioning professionals delivering data center capacity to support Amazon's growth in APAC. You will build data to change the commissioning delivery landscape with Business Analytics and Intelligence, striving Operational Excellence within APJC and globally. Working backwards from our customers, we innovate and are committed to deliver customer satisfaction, delivering faster with improved quality without compromising safety.

Key job responsibilities
Business Analytics
• Translate basic business problem statements into analysis requirements
• Communicate analysis and work with business stakeholders to understand its value and propose changes

Business Intelligence
• Developing audit and compliance mechanisms to ensure the data integrity
• Write queries and output efficiently
• Convert data to make it analysis- ready through basic descriptives, aggregations, and pivots
• Implement/deploy data visualization or communication tools (e.g., metrics dashboards, decks)
• Gathering data across APAC to support reporting, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking

Operational Excellence
• Identify gaps, measure inefficiencies/impact, propose actions, measure success and iterate
• Identifying gaps and creating system SOPs to drive efficiencies and reduce level of efforts (LOEs) on repeating and overlapping data entries, eliminate non-value-add activities, removing blockers, and driving automation
• Building metrics on Dashboard for KPI and Key Value Drivers reporting to drive better performance internally and externally
• Liaising with APAC, AMER and EMEA counterparts to drive global alignment

A day in the life
You will use data and anecdotes to tactically drive internal customers to manage project risks (safety, quality, time and cost) globally. You will use your knowledge and experience to develop dashboards. You will apply business acumens to develop actionable insights and simplifying reporting to peers and the leadership to drive better business outcomes. You will need to have the backbone to tell the business what is slowing us down backed with data analysed. You will partner peers to develop solutions that enable the business to be agile and adaptable to deliver high quality builds with consistency.

About the team
The AWS Data Center Capacity Delivery Commissioning Team (DCCD Cx) is an independent critical infrastructure validations team within the Data Centre Capacity Delivery (DCCD) organization. This team of professional Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Project Managers, Operators and seasoned Amazonians are uniquely positioned to provide deeply detailed engineering and operational review and testing of equipment designs, operational functionality and construction practices. We are focused on ensuring the rapid delivery of a quality product while maintaining full transparency, recording metrics of manufacturer/contractor/equipment issues in new builds and upgrade projects, whilst identifying opportunities for all our peers and customers.

- Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
- Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, statistics, computer science, business administration or a related field
- Experience in a highly analytical, results-oriented environment with cross functional interactions
- Experience developing tools, reports, process maps, scorecards, and data visualizations that improve upon those currently employed for understanding the business and making decisions
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
- Proven business acumen, learning new businesses, taking ownership of problems, navigating ambiguity solutions and asking the right questions for operational excellence
