We're looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to be the technical leader and subject matter expert for our API and streaming platform. In this high-impact role, you will be instrumental in defining and building a world-class API-first strategy, and you will directly

influence our long-term technical vision. This role requires hands-on expertise in all aspects of API development, from architecture and implementation to management and observability.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead the technical strategy and hands-on development of our API-first and streaming platform. You will serve as the internal subject matter expert, guiding the team in building scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
• Be a hands-on contributor, developing and maintaining a world-class platform.
• Your work will involve building and maintaining core services like Authentication and API Gateway (both public and internal), as well as OCPI-based APIs and Transition Layers.
• Drive the adoption of best practices for API-related functions, including API Management,
• Gateway, Translation, Migration, Service Mesh, Access Control, Observability, and Documentation.
• You'll work autonomously on highly unique and significant issues where analysis requires a deep understanding of complex, often intangible, factors.
• This role demands conceptual thinking to navigate advanced technical issues and their broader implications.
• Your work will be self-initiated. You will proactively uncover and resolve issues related to new technologies and advancements. You will lead projects with notable risk and complexity, defining the strategic approach for their execution.

Requirements

• • 10+ years of experience building back-end software
• • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology Engineering, and Math)
• • Good in CS fundamentals - data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• • Working experience of API-related functions, including API Management, Gateway,
• Translation, Migration, Service Mesh, Access Control, Observability, and Documentation.
• • Hands-on with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Gateway, WebSocket and related technologies.
• • Working experience with modern software architecture components (e.g. Distributed Systems, Containerization, Micro Services, etc.)
• • Working experience in one of the cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)Personal/Leadership Attributes
