SpaceX is seeking a Tool & Die Specialist - Level 4/5 to assist in the maintenance and repair of injection molding and die-casting tools. This role requires excellent tool and die skills and experience in a similar environment.
You are a skilled Tool and Die Specialist with a proven track record in the industry, particularly in the maintenance and repair of molds for plastic injection and die casting. Your expertise allows you to efficiently disassemble and assemble molds, ensuring safety and timeliness in your work. You have a strong understanding of the intricacies involved in repairing and fabricating cores, cavities, and various components, demonstrating your attention to detail and commitment to quality. You thrive in collaborative environments, bridging gaps between production and maintenance operations, and are motivated to contribute to the success of your team.
Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is a plus, as is familiarity with troubleshooting and identifying proactive systems to reduce manufacturing defects. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and supporting design engineering efforts to evaluate tooling changes.
In this role, you will lead the maintenance, repair, and modification of molds for plastic injection and die casting. You will be responsible for the correct disassembly and assembly of molds, ensuring that all processes are conducted safely and efficiently. Your hands-on skills will be crucial as you repair and fabricate various components, including cores and cavities, while also performing hand work repairs to part details and polished cavities. You will support production and maintenance teams by troubleshooting issues and creating and maintaining mold spare parts lists. Your proactive approach will help achieve consistent reductions in manufacturing defects and productivity concerns, ultimately contributing to the overall success of SpaceX's operations.
