You'll work with modern graphics APIs like Vulkan and Direct3D to optimize rendering performance. This role requires a Master's degree in a related field and experience in graphics programming.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Information Technology, or a related field and have at least two years of experience in graphics programming. You have a strong understanding of graphics APIs such as Vulkan, Direct3D, Metal, and WebGPU, and you are passionate about optimizing rendering performance across various platforms. Your experience includes designing and developing 3D graphics rendering algorithms, and you are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance backend functionality for user scripting.

You thrive in a team environment and enjoy working with others to solve complex problems. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to troubleshoot performance-related issues and create tools for performance evaluation. You are eager to partner with the Virtual Reality team and platform partners to improve rendering performance, ensuring that every pixel rendered meets the highest standards.

Desirable

Experience with Unity’s high-definition rendering pipeline (HDRP) is a plus, as is familiarity with real-time rendering applications. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your work and the team's output. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will help you succeed in this role.

What you'll do

As a Graphics Engineer at Unity, you will develop and maintain the software code and infrastructure of the real-time game engine. You will design and develop 3D graphics rendering algorithms that work seamlessly across various platforms, ensuring a unified abstraction layer for cross-platform rendering. Your role will involve collaborating with other teams during each feature release to expose backend functionality to user scripting, enhancing the overall user experience.

You will optimize performance and troubleshoot performance-related bugs, creating tools to evaluate and improve rendering performance. Your work will directly impact the quality of graphics rendered in mobile games, PC and console titles, and XR experiences. You will also partner with the Virtual Reality team and platform partners to ensure that Unity's graphics capabilities are at the forefront of the industry.

What we offer

Unity offers a competitive salary of $187,574 USD, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of real-time rendering technology. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds in our team.
