Engineering Manager, UI Platform

What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for the UI Platform team at Anthropic, you will lead a group of engineers responsible for developing the foundational infrastructure that powers Claude.ai across various surfaces, including web, mobile, and desktop applications. Your role will involve overseeing the development of backend-for-frontend (BFF) APIs that enhance the user experience and ensure system reliability.

You will be responsible for setting the technical direction for the team, making architectural decisions that impact the performance and scalability of the platform. You will work closely with product teams to understand their needs and ensure that the infrastructure supports their goals effectively. Your leadership will help drive initiatives that improve developer velocity and reduce latency in the deployment of new features.

In this role, you will also focus on team building and career development, conducting regular one-on-ones with team members to provide feedback and support their professional growth. You will foster a collaborative environment where engineers feel empowered to share ideas and innovate.

You will partner with other engineering leaders to align on best practices and ensure that the UI platform integrates seamlessly with other components of the Claude.ai ecosystem. Your work will directly influence how quickly product teams can innovate and how stable their experiences are when they ship new features.
