Mercor is seeking an Accounting Manager to build a high-quality, audit-ready accounting function. You'll work closely with the Controller and leadership in a fast-paced startup environment. This role requires strong technical accounting skills and public accounting experience.
You have a strong background in accounting with experience in public accounting — you've developed the skills necessary to prepare for external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards. You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, demonstrating the ability to adapt and take ownership of your responsibilities. Your technical accounting skills are complemented by your attention to detail and commitment to building a robust accounting function from the ground up. You understand the importance of process documentation and are familiar with stock-based compensation and lease accounting. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with leadership and other departments to achieve common goals.
As the Accounting Manager at Mercor, you will report directly to the Controller and play a critical role in preparing the company for its first external audit. You will be responsible for process documentation and the compilation of prepared by client (PBC) requests, ensuring that all necessary information is organized and readily available for auditors. You will work closely with the Controller to support month-end close activities and assist in maintaining audit readiness. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of accounting policies and procedures that align with the company's growth objectives. In this position, you will be instrumental in building a high-quality accounting function that supports Mercor's mission and values.
