Snowflake is seeking a Value Engineer – FinOps & Growth Analytics to analyze large-scale datasets and create data-driven insights. You'll work with SQL and Python to model cloud consumption behaviors and optimize customer ROI.
You have a strong analytical mindset and a background in quantitative analysis or data science — your experience allows you to work effectively with complex datasets and derive actionable insights. You are proficient in SQL and Python, enabling you to analyze large-scale consumption and performance datasets. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to clearly convey findings to both business and technical stakeholders. You are eager to learn and adapt, especially in areas like FinOps and Snowflake platform expertise, which you will develop through training. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy partnering with account teams and engineers to drive customer success.
Experience with cloud consumption modeling and workload optimization would be a plus, as would familiarity with unit economics and performance benchmarks. A background in consulting or customer-facing roles can enhance your ability to translate technical findings into business value.
In this role, you will analyze large-scale datasets to uncover insights and trends that can optimize cloud consumption for Snowflake customers. You will build unit economic models to evaluate costs per query, per TB scanned, and per user, providing benchmarks across various workloads. Your work will involve exploring and interpreting internal metadata pipelines created by product and data science teams to understand compute, storage, and pipeline behaviors. You will translate your quantitative findings into clear, actionable insights that help customers reduce waste and improve their return on investment. Additionally, you will develop reusable analytical frameworks for consumption modeling and workload optimization, ensuring that your insights are scalable and impactful. You will collaborate closely with account teams, sales engineers, and value engineers to support customer conversations with data-backed insights, enabling and accelerating growth for both the customers and Snowflake.
