Principal Engineer, Gemini Cloud Assist

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience. With at least 15 years of experience as a technical software engineering leader, or 13 years with an advanced degree, you have a proven track record of driving technical innovation in cross-functional engineering environments. Your strong expertise in building Generative AI and machine learning products, along with experience in agent frameworks and protocols, positions you as a leader in the field.

You hold a Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another relevant engineering discipline, or possess equivalent practical experience. You have successfully produced software products and large-scale distributed systems, showcasing your ability to manage complex projects and deliver impactful results. Your experience in the AI space, particularly with evolving models and frameworks, allows you to stay ahead of industry trends and drive innovation.

What you'll do

As a Principal Engineer for Gemini Cloud Assist, you will strategize, build, and develop AI-powered cloud management products that transform how enterprise customers consume and manage their businesses in the cloud. You will influence and collaborate across Google Cloud, Google DeepMind, and external AI ecosystems to create joint roadmaps and drive the adoption of Gemini Cloud Assist. Your role will involve mentoring and guiding multiple Engineering Technical Leads across various product areas, ensuring alignment and collaboration within the team.

You will be responsible for defining the usage of agentic infrastructure, models, and planners, as well as developing agent frameworks and protocols to enhance the capabilities of Gemini Cloud Assist. Your leadership will be crucial in shaping the product portfolio and tooling, enabling customers to optimize their applications, workloads, and services effectively. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to build consensus and drive the vision for Gemini Cloud Assist, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of customers in the cloud.
