Backend/ API Engineer, Bank Transfers

You have a solid background in backend engineering, with experience in building production systems that handle financial transactions. Your understanding of large-scale financial tracking systems allows you to contribute effectively to mission-critical projects. You are comfortable working with cloud-based services, including gRPC, GraphQL, Docker, and Kubernetes, and have a good grasp of AWS services. You think of yourself as a generalist, eager to tackle challenges across various technologies and stacks to deliver exceptional user experiences. Your entrepreneurial mindset drives you to innovate and improve existing processes, ensuring that both internal and external users are delighted with the solutions you create.

Desirable

Experience with international bank transfers and a keen interest in the evolving landscape of financial technology would be advantageous. Familiarity with payment processing systems and an understanding of the regulatory environment surrounding financial transactions are also preferred.

What you'll do

As a Backend Engineer on the Bank Transfers team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the infrastructure that supports bank transfer payments. You will collaborate closely with product managers and other engineers to design and implement features that streamline the payment process for users. Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables. You will also engage in troubleshooting and debugging to resolve any issues that arise in production, ensuring that our systems remain reliable and efficient.

You will have the opportunity to work on expanding our support for international bank transfers, which involves understanding the unique challenges presented by different countries and payment systems. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience, making it easier for customers to manage their payments. You will also be involved in automating reconciliation processes, which will save customers time and reduce operational overhead.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall strategy of the Bank Transfers team. Your insights and suggestions will help shape the direction of our product as we continue to grow and adapt to the needs of our users.
