Senior Technical Writer, Documentation

Who you are

You are an experienced technical writer with at least 5 years of relevant experience developing documentation for a developer or SRE audience, including SDK documentation. You have a strong understanding of technical content creation and are adept at collaborating with product and engineering teams to produce high-quality documentation. Your experience includes using Markdown and static-site generators to develop and publish documentation effectively. You are familiar with GitHub and understand how to leverage it for version control and collaboration in documentation projects. You are passionate about creating clear and informative content that helps users understand complex technical concepts.

Desirable

Experience with Datadog's products or similar monitoring tools is a plus. Familiarity with API documentation and developer guides will enhance your ability to contribute to the team. You are comfortable digging into source code to extract technical details and have a keen eye for detail in your writing. You enjoy mentoring and coaching junior team members, sharing your expertise to help them grow in their roles.

What you'll do

In this role, you will partner with product and engineering teams to manage documentation projects and create public user documentation, focusing on Datadog Applied AI. You will dig into source code for community and internally developed systems to collect technical details for documentation. Your responsibilities will include creating developer-facing documentation and guides for APIs, developer and SRE tools, and the Agent, enabling the developer and monitoring community to onboard and succeed with Datadog's products. You will collaborate with the documentation team and the open-source community to develop documentation standards and continually improve processes. As a senior team member, you will provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to others in the team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
