Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for the Falcon Launch Systems team to design and develop mechanical and fluid ground systems for Falcon 9 vehicles. You'll work with AutoCAD and SolidWorks to support launch operations at Vandenberg Space Force Base.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and have at least 1 year of hands-on experience with mechanical and/or fluid systems in design, manufacturing, or implementation. You possess a well-rounded technical knowledge that allows you to demonstrate proficiency in structural sizing, mechanisms, and design. You are capable of making development decisions based on cost and schedule considerations, showcasing your ability to balance technical and project management skills. You thrive in collaborative environments, coordinating effectively with engineers from various disciplines such as civil, structural, electrical, and controls to establish a complete system design.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Falcon Launch team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical and fluid ground systems for the Falcon 9 vehicles, including launch pads and fluid storage systems. You will perform structural analysis of components and systems, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and safety standards. Your role will involve complete end-to-end project ownership, supporting successful testing and implementation of the hardware you design. You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers, contributing to the delivery and maintenance of mechanical systems that support SpaceX's ambitious launch schedule.
