Who you are

You are a seasoned full-stack engineer with at least 5 years of experience in building scalable applications. You have a deep understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies, and you are comfortable working with Java, JavaScript, and frameworks like React. You care deeply about user experience and performance, ensuring that the applications you build are not only functional but also delightful to use.

You have a proven track record of shaping technical direction and leading by example. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and confidence. You understand the importance of clean architecture and disciplined shipping, and you are committed to delivering high-quality code.

Your experience includes working with cross-border payment systems or similar financial technologies, giving you insights into the unique challenges and opportunities in this space. You are familiar with agile methodologies and have experience in participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with microservices architecture. You are also open to learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving needs of the team and the business.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for building the next wave of remittance products at Nium. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement features that enhance the user experience. Your work will involve both front-end and back-end development, ensuring that the applications you build are robust and scalable.

You will lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions, helping to shape the future of Nium's payment infrastructure. You will also be involved in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to your peers and ensuring that best practices are followed across the team.

As a senior engineer, you will mentor junior team members, helping them to develop their skills and grow within the company. You will foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, encouraging your team to share knowledge and learn from one another.

You will also be responsible for monitoring application performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Your analytical skills will be crucial in identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions that enhance the overall performance of the applications.
