Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 5 years of experience in program management. Your background includes managing the software development life-cycle, and you possess a strong understanding of AI and machine learning algorithms or features. You are adept at managing cross-functional or cross-team projects, particularly in the context of device hardware and software releases. You thrive in environments where you can leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish.

You are comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels, from engineers to executives, and you can clearly articulate analyses and recommendations. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you believe that a problem isn’t truly solved until it’s resolved for all. You have a proven track record of building relationships between cross-functional teams and managing communication of progress and status across various locations and time zones.

Desirable

Experience with process improvements to streamline product development is a plus, as is a history of implementing risk management strategies. You are someone who enjoys nurturing relationships and fostering collaboration among diverse teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned towards common goals.

What you'll do

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead multiple critical AI/ML software work streams for the Pixel Watch and Fitbit Device Software team. Your role will involve planning requirements, identifying risks, managing project schedules, and ensuring clear communication with cross-functional partners across the company. You will work closely with a team of software engineers, guiding them through the complexities of developing premium wearable devices and services that showcase the potential of the Android and WearOS platforms.

You will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning through execution and delivery. This includes defining project scopes, setting timelines, and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process. You will also implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in product development, continuously managing risks and evaluating multiple paths to success.

Your ability to communicate effectively will be crucial as you manage relationships with various teams and stakeholders. You will own the communication of project progress and status updates, ensuring that everyone is aligned and informed. Your leadership will help shape the direction of the projects you oversee, making a significant impact on the success of Google's AI initiatives.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to building products that create opportunities for everyone. You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge technology in a collaborative environment that values innovation and creativity. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe diverse teams build better products. Join us in shaping the future of AI and wearable technology.
