Job Description

Who you are

You have a solid background in embedded systems and are proficient in C programming — your experience includes designing and implementing firmware for hardware devices. You are familiar with Embedded Linux and understand the intricacies of hardware-software integration, ensuring that your code effectively communicates with the underlying electronics. You have a user-focused mindset, always considering how your work impacts the end-user experience. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with R&D engineers and product managers to bring innovative features to life. You are detail-oriented and prioritize maintainability and testing in your development process, ensuring that your contributions are robust and reliable. You are eager to learn and adapt, keeping up with the latest advancements in 3D printing technology and embedded systems.

What you'll do

As an Embedded Software Engineer at Formlabs, you will design, build, test, and ship development tools and prototype code for new, unlaunched products. Your role will involve collaborating with R&D engineers to create new printer features that will be deployed to tens of thousands of devices in the field. You will ensure code re-use with a strong focus on maintainability, testing, and continuous integration. You will participate in the entire development lifecycle, from initial design through to deployment, and will be responsible for troubleshooting and optimizing firmware performance. You will also engage with various stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback, ensuring that the solutions you develop meet the needs of both the company and its users. Your contributions will directly impact the functionality and reliability of Formlabs' 3D printers, helping to push the limits of what is possible in the industry.
