You have extensive experience in software engineering, particularly with multi-threaded C++ code — debugging complex systems is second nature to you, and you thrive on optimizing software that impacts millions of users. Your enthusiasm for web technologies drives you to create applications that enrich users' lives, and you are well-versed in the latest web standards and APIs. You understand the intricacies of IndexedDB, File System, Web Workers, Service Workers, and other web technologies that enhance user experience. As a Staff Engineer on the DOM team, you will be responsible for the Gecko implementation of various web standards — your first major challenge will involve optimizing the performance of IndexedDB and other storage solutions. You will work closely with other engineers to debug and enhance the functionality of web APIs, ensuring they meet the needs of users and developers alike. Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews to uphold high standards of software quality. You will also engage in discussions about architectural decisions and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team. Collaboration with product managers and designers will be key as you translate user needs into technical requirements. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers. Mozilla offers a competitive salary range of €80,000—€117,000 EUR for this remote position in Germany.
