[Coupang Pay] Sr.Staff, Back-end Engineer (Fintech Product)

Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building scalable production systems. You have a strong understanding of architectural design and have successfully led projects from conception through deployment, ensuring high availability and performance.

Your expertise in Java is complemented by a deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture. You have a proven track record of developing high-throughput APIs and are familiar with the challenges of handling secure transactions at scale.

You are a hands-on builder who enjoys diving into code while also taking on leadership responsibilities. You thrive in collaborative environments and are skilled at mentoring junior engineers, helping them grow their technical skills and understanding of best practices.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and can navigate complex technical challenges with ease. You are passionate about delivering exceptional user experiences and understand the importance of customer-centric design in fintech products.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools. Knowledge of payment processing systems and security protocols is also advantageous.

What you'll do

In this role, you will architect and develop backend systems for Coupang Pay, focusing on creating fast, reliable, and secure payment solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and frontend engineers, to ensure seamless integration of payment functionalities into the Coupang ecosystem.

You will take ownership of the entire development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment. Your responsibilities will include optimizing system performance, ensuring scalability, and maintaining high standards of code quality through rigorous testing and code reviews.

You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, working to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability. As a senior member of the team, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
