Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Lead Crane Technician to oversee the repair and maintenance of crane assets across their facilities. This role requires strong project management skills and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced environment.

Who you are

You have extensive experience in crane operations and maintenance, demonstrating a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Your background includes developing and administering preventative maintenance programs, ensuring that all crane and elevator operations run smoothly without interruptions. You prioritize safety and have a proven track record of fostering a culture of safety excellence within your team. You are adept at using electronic work order systems to track and resolve issues efficiently, and you have experience collaborating with engineering and construction teams to ensure the proper functioning of crane systems.

Desirable

Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment is a plus, as is familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies. You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on quality and safety. Your leadership skills enable you to support and guide your team effectively, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards.

What you'll do

As the Lead Crane Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all crane assets across the campus. You will support a team dedicated to ensuring that all facilities crane and elevator operations are executed flawlessly, preventing any unplanned service interruptions. Your role will involve coordinating the planning, budgeting, scheduling, and scope of work for crane operations and elevator services. You will develop and implement an effective preventative maintenance program to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, you will open, track, and resolve electronic work tickets using SpaceX's custom work order system, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly.

You will consult with production engineering and facilities construction teams to determine the necessary crane systems and prioritize tasks effectively to drive department efficiency. Your commitment to safety will be paramount as you lead by example, promoting a culture of safety excellence among your team members. You will also be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating your ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
