Job Description

Amazon FinOps is looking for a highly skillful data Analyst to be part of the Data Analytics, and business operations. As an analytics expert at Amazon FinOps, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the world's largest data sets, influence the long term evolution of our data analytics capability and help build data driven operational strategies to adapt and be successful in ever changing business environments.

You will be a key influencer on the team, providing input on priorities, understand and anticipate stakeholder needs, thinking big when recommending solutions. You will be comfortable navigating an ambiguous environment, knowing how to confirm and reconfirm assumptions. You will advise leaders and stakeholders on project milestones and associated prioritization.

Key job responsibilities
• Development of moderately to highly complex data processing jobs using appropriate technologies (e.g. SQL, Python etc.)
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business domains, requirements, and expectations. Additionally, working with owners of data source systems to understand capabilities and limitations.
• Actively manage the timeline and deliverables of projects, anticipate risks and resolve issues.
• Build accurate dashboards to track operational metrics including KPIs, process/channel/team specific goals.
• Support the Global FinOps teams on business reporting, ad hoc analysis, statistical inference and predictive modelling.
• Ability to think through and present historical data trends, operational statistics in a meaningful, insightful and actionable manner.
• Good Data Interpretation and ability to map/relate data to Business and Operations.
• Investigate the data, understand root cause/questions, and come up with alternative measurement and forecasting strategies
• Predictive Analytics: Ability to analyze and build statistically robust forecasting models for Operational Effort drivers and related metrics that can help in planning and preparing for the future.
• Data/Text mining algorithms and Data analytics on processes and customer behavioral patterns to identify critical business and operational insights to make recommendations to optimize operational efforts.- 1+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 2+ years of complex Excel VBA macros writing experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with SQL or ETL- Experience working with Tableau
- Experience using very large datasets
