SpaceX is seeking a Test Specialist for Factory Automation to design and build testing equipment for cutting-edge technologies. You'll work with mechanical, electrical, and structural systems in Redmond, WA. This role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and bring over 3 years of hands-on experience with mechanical, structural, fluid, and electrical systems. Your background includes at least 2 years of experience performing electronic testing, showcasing your technical expertise in this area. You are detail-oriented and capable of managing first article builds, addressing shortages and errors, and providing feedback to improve documentation. Your experience in managing supply chains and vendors for outsourced equipment builds is a significant asset. You understand the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, stocked, and orderly work area, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
Experience with robotics and environmental simulation equipment is a plus, as is familiarity with design and build processes for wire harnesses and PCBAs. You are comfortable troubleshooting in situ and have a proactive approach to problem-solving. Your ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and qualification tests will enhance the team's efficiency and effectiveness.
In this role, you will design and build wire harnesses, PCBAs, test racks, robotics, and environmental simulation equipment to support SpaceX's ambitious goals. You will play a crucial role in supporting production, engineering, and qualification tests, including equipment bring-up and configuration, as well as conducting dry runs and troubleshooting in situ. Managing first article builds will be part of your responsibilities, where you will address any shortages and errors while providing valuable feedback to improve documentation. You will also manage supply chain and vendor relationships for outsourced equipment builds, ensuring that all components meet SpaceX's high standards. Developing and managing maintenance plans for production equipment will be essential to keep operations running smoothly. You will maintain a safe, clean, stocked, and orderly work area, contributing to a productive work environment.
